Bar Boutique, the newest addition to Ramsey’s bustling downtown, is a full-service wine bar and store. The establishment has taken over the corner spot where the gym SWEAT used to be, across from popular bakery and cafe, L’Arte.
Atmosphere
It was quite full for a Wednesday at 6 p.m., with couples waiting for open tables and a large birthday party in progress. My guests and I sat at the bar and chatted with one of the bartenders, who gave us descriptions of the types of wines we ordered and how the bar’s first few weeks were going. When we asked him about what business was typically like on a weekday, he said it would only get busier as the night went on. On colder nights, the bar offers outdoor heated seating, with tall heat lamps accompanying each table.
Wines by the glass vary in price, from $10 to $24, and guests can order craft beers (think small-batch IPAs and northeastern Pilsners) and non-alcoholic beverages as well. Various cocktails (all $18), both classic and curated, are available to order, like the signature “Thyme Bomb,” crafted with tequila and thyme liqueur, and of course garnished with a sprig of herbs. Bottles are also available for purchase, with a $25 uncorking fee if guests want to enjoy them in-store.
Food Options
Patrons can order small plates and desserts to accompany their drinks, like chicken teriyaki dumplings and ahi tuna tartar, or charcuterie spreads with a variety of smoked meats and cheeses to share. My guests and I shared the Bar Boutique spread, which at $29 includes four cheeses and four smoked meats accompanied by Marcona almonds and crackers. The bar works alongside local Italian bakery L’Arte and B&M Market to prepare and curate their food menu.
You can find a full list of the appetizers, desserts, cocktails, wines and craft beers they have for sale here.
